The monograph spans the biography of India's first woman press photographer, Homai Vyarawalla, and draws value in her large body of work's ability to narrate the history of post-independent India. This edition of the book was published in conjunction with a retrospective exhibition on Homai Vyarawalla entitled 'Homai Vyarawalla: A Retrospective,' which ran from August to October 2010 at the National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi. The first edition was published in 2006 as a UNESCO-Parzor Publication.
