This exhibition by Kosit Juntaratip at Bangkok University Art Gallery in 2005, explores the meaning of 'a kiss' as a social symbol. Thasnai Sethaseeri wrote, 'The meaning (of a kiss) changes according to the situation. It's the same with other symbolic gestures that are a form of non-verbal communication... Once 'a kiss' has been reduced to a mere social symbol, 'a kiss' no longer conceals within it the hidden meaning that the kisser intended to convey. 'A kiss' becomes a mere peck and just part of a social duty. It’s like consumer goods that have come with globalization. People use them because they’re to be used and (throw them away) then they look for something else instead.'
