Catalogue of Kong Baiji's solo exhibition at Alisan Fine Arts in 2006. Born in Shanghai in 1932, Kong is largely a self-taught artist who has had a fascination for painting since childhood. His first solo exhibition was held in Shanghai in 1964, and by 1979, he was considered a "Master", along with first generation Chinese oil painter Yan Wenling, Chinese ink master Zhu Qizhan and watercolourist Jui Guoliang, with whom he had a four-person joint exhibition. The recent paintings presented in this exhibition consist of many different subjects, including landscapes, portraits, still life and Bodhisattvas, showing Kong's multi-faceted approaches and his passion for painting. Artist biography is included in the catalogue.
