This is the catalogue of Yu Peng's solo exhibition at Lin & Keng Gallery in Taiwan in 1999. Yu's traditional Chinese landscapes are often scattered with figures, sometimes nudes, from the contemporary world. This can be read in part as the artist's desires and dreams being projected onto his artistic creation. It can also be seen as furthering the development of traditional Chinese ink painting, after various 'new literati' paintings movements, by endowing the works with a sense of contemporaneity, and a sense of the present.
