Catalogue published in conjunction with the artist's solo exhibition at Galerie Lelong, Paris from November 2013 to January 2014.
In this colourful exhibition, Lin continues with the search for an alternative mode of beauty. She introduces new themes of confrontation: 'the noble vs the humble', 'the boundary between restriction and freedom', 'structure and diginity' and 'the political, tradition and death'. Using human skull and skeleton as the central elements, Lin confronts the question of values, or the confusion between art and commodity in a Chinese society where integration into the global economy system constantly challenges its moral and ethical foundations.
With essay by Hou Hanru and artist biography.
