Catalogue of Mio Shirai's exhibition at Hillside Gallery in 1991. Yamamoto Kazuhiro wrote, 'Shirai Mio's works present us with objects that seem to recall something encountered before in art, or else suggest common household articles. Yet, each as a unified work creatively attains its own form, form that is not completely attributable to either of these outside sources. There may be parts, in other words, that quote or rework existing things, but the work as a whole is producing something new.' With images of works, artist biography and interview by Azby Brown. The present catalogue is in Japanese only. The English translation of the accompanying essays is provided in a supplement.
