An attempt to define succinctly an earlier statement made by Singporean artist Poh Siew-Wah: 'Must a painting be just a recording of what you see? What about the spirit and the sub-surface of the visible? I try to go beyond, to reach the soul.' This catalogue is published to accompany the exhibition held at the Court of Justice Hall in Flensburg, Germany. Poh moved his paintings to abstraction, purity, silence and the spiritual, where he demonstrates his interest in colour, space and frontality.

Colour plates and artist's biography included.
