Portraits & Vortexes is an exhibition by Pakistan's leading contemporary miniaturists, Aisha Khalid and Imran Qureshi. For this collection, Imran Qureshi uses old second hand schoolbooks, journals or manuals as the second layer of the wasli (paper) below the gold leaf, to expose the true state behind the glamour of the gold. The present monograph published on the occasion of the above mentioned exhibition also features Imran's installation which are unique in the transformation of his miniature skill on architectural spaces.
