This book concerns Chinese artist Pu Jie and his bright-coloured works. Despite its visual similarity to popular visual culture and hence to pop art, Pu's art reflects an inner dimension of ontological reflection of the human being. The sustained use and emphasis of the colour yellow in his works are also of importance, for it elicits strong associations both to traditional Chinese culture and to prostitution culture in modern society.
Essays are devoted to discussing the phenomenology of Pu's paintings.
Includes an artist's biography.
