Curated by Betti-Sue Hertz, Director of Visual Arts of Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, in conjunction with the artist Song Dong himself, the exhibition 'Dad and Mom, Don't Worry About Us, We Are All Well' is an expansion and extension of the renowned work Waste Not which is an installation of more than 10,000 objects accumulated over several decades by Song Dong's mother. The exhibition comprised primarily video installations which provide insights into the artist and his family and serve to both heighten and deepen the experience of Waste Not.
The present catalogue is published on the occasion of the exhibition held from February to June 2011 at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, San Francisco, and includes essays, an artist interview, images of artwork, artist and authors biographies, as well as a checklist of exhibited works with annotations by Song Dong.
