This catalogue was produced on the occasion of the exhibition entitled 'Survey: Pameran Karya Perupa Muda Di Bawah Usia 35 Tahun' held from March to April 2008 in Jakarta, Indonesia. This exhibition serves to map out and identify the different creative regions emerging in Indonesia. Curated by Kuss Indarto and Rifky Effendy, the exhibition features 68 Indonesian artists. This catalogue includes two essays by the curators. In 'Survey: Towards A New Map', Indarto identifies several creative phenomena in the art practices of young emerging Indonesian artists. Effendy in his essay 'Survey' includes an interview with the video artist Reza Asung Afisina about the development of contemporary art in Indonesia, the future of video art, and about his new work.
