This book was published on the occasion of Tadashi Kawamata's exhibition at Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Berlin from October 2009 to January 2010. Interrogating the architecture of modernity, Kawamata constructed a series of wooden huts, some in the park trees and others nestled on the building's concrete wall. These humble shelters remained largely inaccessible to visitors due to their height.
Includes archival material, sketches and installation shots of the tree huts in the Haus der Kulturen der Welt and the surrounding park. With artist's biography.
