This booklet on the Bergen Biennial Conference, which was held 17-20 September 2009 in Bergen, Norway, and was one of the largest international conferences on biennials ever organized, supplements The Biennial Reader: An Anthology on Large-Scale Perennial Exhibitions of Contemporary Art. The conference was designed to generate discussion and create an occasion for collective reflection on the history, practice, and potential of biennials as institutions. The event had its origins in the Bergen City Council's desire to establish a biennial of contemporary art in Bergen.

Includes conference programme and biographies.
