Sha Fei (1912-1950) was one of the most prominent photographers in China in the 20th century. His life is closely linked to the Chinese people's national liberation cause. Although living a short life of only 38 years, Sha Fei had taken a great number of important documentary images of China during wartime, leaving a precious legacy to all the people of China. The present publication consists of a comprehensive collection of Sha Fei's works, including photographs of Lu Xun, an eminent Chinese writer and intellectual, documentary images of the liberation army, and the Sino-Japanese war.
