The Mirrorman

Excerpt from Inward Gazes: Documentaries of Chinese Performance Art 2012, The Macao Museum of Art, Macau S.A.R., 2012, p. 62: 'The Mirrorman is a product of a modern city imbued with human personality. In a precise manner, it captures the moments of changes while faithfully reflecting the world around it. It is an amalgam of abstract and real man. It is beyond such man-made categories as class, culture, geographic location, ethnic group, nation, etc. It exists as a result of its environment. It sparkles as a result of the others sparkling around it. The Mirrorman is a pure transparent man, a flat body propped by a human being.'

The performance took place in 5 cities, including Beijing and Shanghai, China; New York, U.S.A; Paris, France; Rome, Italy.
