Following 'From the Ground Up - Artist Associations in 1950s Taiwan', 'The Experimental Sixties: Avant-garde Art in Taiwan', 'Reflections of the Seventies: Taiwan Explores Its Own Reality', and 'The Transitional Eighties - Taiwan's Art Breaks New Ground', 'The Multiform Nineties: Taiwan's Art Branches Out' is the final exhibition in the series focusing on phenomena in Taiwanese art during a single decade orgainsed by Taipei Fine Arts Museum since 2003. In 'The Multiform Nineties: Taiwan's Art Branches Out', over 100 works of the 1990s by over 60 Taiwanese artists are presented. Four categories form the basic structure of the exhibition: 'Introspection and Self-Identity', 'New Images of Taiwan in the Nativist Age', 'Meditations on Media', and 'Incursions in Real Society'. Plates of works, chronology of the 1990s as well as brief artist biographies are included in the catelogue.
