Catalogue published to accompany the exhibition of the same title curated by Hou Hanru and the MAXXI curatorial team. The exhibition featured over 140 artists and 200 works to create a principal laboratory for artists, architects, and creatives using 'the modern-day street' as the vehicle and space to explore themes of public actions, daily life, politics, the community, innovation, and the role of the institution.
The book includes essays by Giovanna Melandri, Hou Hanru, Pippo Ciorra, Mark Wigley, Simon Ciglia, Nikos Papastergiadis, Saskia Sassen, Homi K. Bhabha, Stefano Chiodi, Alessandra Capuano, Alessandra Criconia, Alessandro Lanzetta, and Fabrizio Toppetti.
