As part of the 2007 Japan-India Friendship and Exchange Year, the Japan Foundation organized a project to introduce Japanese contemporary art in India and advance cultural exchange. The project consisted of three parts: an exhibition of 10 artists with the theme 'Vanishing Points', presented at the National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi; artist-in-residence projects throughout India with the cooperation of artists' initiative NPOs such as Khoj Studios and Open Circle Trust, Visvabharati University, and local artists, which included workshops involving the local community; finally these culminated in exhibitions at private galleries in Mumbai. This catalogue introduces the work done on location and the exhibitions in Mumbai. Accounts by the participating artists are given alongside images of their work. Biographies included.
