Artists, curators, critics, museum directors, dealers, press and patrons from around the globe converged in Venice for the preview of the 53rd Venice Biennale. While the consensus seemed to be one of disappointment in the failure of curator Daniel Birnbaum’s exhibition 'Making Worlds' call to "find tools for the future and to make possible new beginnings", this year's Biennale, with over sixty three national pavilions and forty four collateral events, had something for everybody, while holding firm its position as the most important contemporary art platform in the world. AAA’s Bangkok, Seoul, and Taipei researchers Narawan Pathomovat, Hyejo Yum, and Larry Shao, and Executive Director Claire Hsu were on the ground covering the event.
