This catalogue was published on the occasion of the exhibition ‘Ten Thousand Li: Chinese Infusion in Contemporary British Culture’ which toured the United Kingdom from 2002-2003. As stated in the title, this exhibition and the present publication study how the works and ideas of an important generation of British-Chinese artists infiltrate the mainstream of British contemporary art. The accompanying essays look into this process.
