'The conceptual term of drawing has been used up differently by artists. Every artist holds his/her own definition. From an artwork of its own to a suggestion to other creative process, drawing is always in process of redefining.
In Hong Kong, space is limited. It's hard to see artists' drawing work. The public at large is looking for very predictable and easily consumed work. Technically speaking, drawing is said to be outdated and old-fashioned. When people are still busy putting ready-made objects together or being seduced by materials, there are artists who insist to focus on their vision.
In this exhibition, we have included twelve woman artists from various creative disciplines. We have no intention to create any station either in feminist ideas or on a collective drawing concept. This is only an exhibition to provide viewers a more detailed look at how artists work in their visual practice and what their concerns in their artistic life are.
