Bangkok Trip, 26-28 February 2003

This video is part of the AAA Travelogue series and features a trip to Bangkok by Claire Hsu, AAA’s executive director. It is comprised of video footage of exhibition openings, interviews, visits to art organisations and the Hangzhou Art Academy group.

Claire’s trip to Bangkok, formerly known as the ‘Venice of the East’, was the first in many more to come as the AAA began to build up its collection of material for Thailand in the year 2003.

Visiting various institutions, galleries, museums and artists was the goal of the trip, and these include the Rama 9 Foundation office, exhibitions of artists Phatyos Buddhachaoren and Decha Warashoon at the National Gallery, Hangzhou Art Academy group, Silpakorn University, artist Pinaree Sanpitak and Miao, video/performance artist Michael Shaowanasai and other artists Kamol Phaosavasadi, Vasan Sitthiket and Tawatchai Puntusawasdi.
