The exhibition Seeing Things, Being There is on view at AAA Library in Sheung Wan, 6 October–25 November. This project grew out of an internal talk held in response to the twentieth anniversary of Hong Kong’s return to China; we published highlights of this talk, which focused on the histories of the shows Hong Kong Reincarnated New Lo Ting Archeological Find (1998) and Talkover/Handover (2007), in “Back to the Future: Contemporary Art and the Hong Kong Handover.”
Seeing Things, Being There includes exploration of past events and narratives through archival research, and questions how we may relate these materials to contemporary conditions. In this post, we feature selected primary and secondary materials from our Library and Research Collections that inform this exhibition.
