This day-long workshop is designed to inspire new perspectives, insights, and attitudes toward contemporary art as a field of knowledge while focusing on the creative process. Participants are prompted to re-examine their conception of art and education in a relaxed environment to regain and refine their awareness of details that often go unnoticed. With artists, teachers look beyond concrete results to capture the moment. The programme provides an opportunity for participants to think beyond standard school curriculums and experience the role of the creative process as a means to discovery.
The workshop is facilitated by three established artists of diverse backgrounds who are also experienced educators in Hong Kong: former AAA resident Clara Cheung of the artist collective, C&G, who is noted for her community-based practices; poet, writer, and cultural critic Tang Siu Wa, who teaches creative writing at various tertiary education institutions; and sound and media artist Samson Young, who teaches at the School of Creative Media, City University of Hong Kong.
