The catalogue for solo exhibition of Thai artist, Jakapan Vilasineekul entitled "Mountain and Sea". "The idea to present the 'impenetrable mountain' took place in 1993 while I was studying in Germany. I had an anxiety which could not be translated into words and recalled an old saying 'to lift the mountain from one's heart.' At the time I felt that the mountain in my heart had not been removed....In that year, I created the 'impenetrable mountain.' To achieve the impression of weightlessness, waxed paper was used to construct the mountain, which was suspended upon tiny wooden legs....." Excerpt from artist's statement in the catalogue. Biography included.
