This book is published to accompany the exhibition 'Sculpture in Singapore' at the National Museum Art Gallery, Singapore from November to December 1991.
'It documents and studies the development of sculpture after 1976, when the first major sculpture exhibition was held in order to commemorate the inauguration of the National Museum Art Gallery.
This exhibition features more than 170 works, covering 15 years of sculptural activity. The works celebrate a diversity of freshness and ingenuity by sculptors here, ranging from the established to the young and promising artists of today. Furthermore, it represents interpretations of the evolving language of sculpture, through the individual talent, exploration and experimentation.' - excerpts from the foreword by C.G. Kwa, Director of National Museum, Singapore.
Includes conversation between guest curator, T.K. Sabapathy and six artists in the exhibition.
