This folder contains material related to Green Papaya Art Projects’ operations. The platform has had four locations, all in Quezon City, Manila: in 2000, a condominium unit at Sterten Place, 116 Maginhawa Street, Teachers Village; in 2001, a converted garage at 124A Maginhawa Street, Teachers Village; in 2008, a 1940s, two-storey house at 41B Teodoro Gener Street on the corner of Kamuning Road; and in 2013, a bungalow at 99A Scout Rallos, Sacred Heart. Starting in 2016, the bungalow hosted residencies, talks, screenings, cooking sessions, and other public events. From 2016 to 2020, Green Papaya Art Projects maintained the third space as a bar downstairs subleased to an artist collective called Catch 272. The second-floor became storage in 2018 for part of the physical archive, library, and art collection of more than 300 works. An electrical fire on 3 June 2020 raged through the unit; surprisingly, a good number of materials survived intact or with little damage despite the heat, smoke, and water.
