This selection relates to AAA’s research initiative on performance art. In addition to acquisitions for the Library Collection, AAA has also developed digitisation projects on the personal archives of artists, such as Kwok Mang Ho Frog King Archive, Ray Langenbach Archive, Betsy Damon: Keepers of the Water Archive, and Lee Wen Archive. In fall 2018, AAA organised public programmes on the topic, including a musical event exploring performative cross-dressing in India and China, and talks by artist and scholar Linda Lai and researcher Liu Nanxi, who spoke about the documentation of performance art and the emergence of performance art festivals, respectively.
Also on display are AAA publications and other editorial collaborations, including Mapping Asia (2014), 15 Invitations (2017), and Artist-to-Artist: Independent Art Festivals in Chiang Mai 1992–98 (2018).
