Catalogue of Yang Yong's solo exhibition at The Courtyard Gallery, Beijing in 2006. Featured in the exhibition are eleven oil paintings entitled International Passage created between 2004 and 2006. Martina Koppel-Yang wrote, 'While Yang Yong records his direct personal environment through photography, he recently started to wrtie down more general impressions, related to international events and places through painting. Here he reveals his background as graduate in oil-painting from the Sichuan Fine Arts Academy. Similar to his photos his series of oil paintings entitled International Passage also records particular moments. Similar is further the strange use of light, the choice of a singular somehow strange perspective that makes the represented common object, location or event appear unfamiliar and alien.
