Utopia:Sleepwalking 1: "Utopia in Progress" by Yason Banal" and "Flash Elemental" by John Torres
In this email, Yason Banal proposed the first six installments of “Utopia:Sleepwalking” for Papaya Magazine's second issue, attaching here the first installment featuring John Torres' “Flash Elemental” (a short film for the printed page which includes both images and writing).
Following Banal's “Sleepwalking” (2005-2007) column in the broadsheet Philippine Star, “Utopia:Sleepwalking” was supported by Arts Network Asia (ANA), and aimed to be “a platform for exciting and experimental ‘young stars’ from various disciplines and countries to create ‘projects for the printed page,’ thus communicating such ‘propositions’ to a broader public”.
