For around three decades beginning in 1967, Jyoti Bhatt took on the pursuit of travelling to numerous villages, towns, and cities in India to record traditional art practices. He finally amassed over 50,000 photographs, which were organised chronologically with copious notes in diaries and essays about the contexts, changing techniques, and mediums. The folders in this section are arranged according to the storage boxes and contact sheets that were organised by Bhatt himself.
