'Casa Grande, Arizona. The captain of the Fuji airship I travelled on from Texas to Los Angeles suggested that I Photograph the spectacular territory connecting El Paso to Palm Springs. Sometimes while covering the region I found unexpected sights such as a preposterously huge hole in Arizona near Phoenix that indicated that copper was being strip-mined in Casa Grande.'
