Photograph of Roberto Chabet's Boat in 'Regarding Place, No Place,' an exhibition curated by Chabet and also featuring Danilo Dalena, Fernando Modesto, and Antonio Austria, at The Art Center, SM Megamall from 12 - 25 May 1996.
The exhibition features Chabet's two-part installation, consisting of Boat (shown in this photo) and Pier and Ocean, which are installed on opposite walls directly facing one another. In this work, a wooden boat rests on plywood panels and is accompanied by framed drawings of the Philippines made by children who were not given a map to copy from, but instead were asked to draw from memory. The title of the other work, Pier and Ocean, refers to one of Piet Mondrian's 'plus/minus' compositions.
