A Mask

The work is considered by the artist as a mask. Mai Thuy Ngoc has no formal art education but she comes from an artistic family. Her father Mai Long is a well-known artist of the revolutionary period. Her brother Mai Chau studied at the Hanoi School of Industrial Art. Mai Thuy Ngoc's artistic production includes masks made from coconuts and lacquered art objects. Her works were exhibited at Salon Natasha during the early 1990s.
