Excerpt from Inward Gazes: Documentaries of Chinese Performance Art 2012, The Macao Museum of Art, Macau S.A.R., 2012, p. 14: 'The original association with lighting firecrackers is to celebrate but it would not be the same if they were wrapped around a human body. In order to preserve the celebratory connotations, a balance must be found in how people use surrounding materials to prevent comedy from becoming tragedy. This condition corresponds to the situation in which every one of us experiences society; this is also the prevailing reality in China.'
The performance took place in Qingyuan, Guangdong, China.
