This publication is produced on the occasion of the exhibition 'Luxury in fashion Reconsidered: Special exhibit ; Kazuo Sejima Spatial Design for COMME des GARCONS', as part of the Tokyo Culture Creation Project, held at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo (MOT) from October 2009 to January 2010. This special exhibition features clothing animated by the avant-gards spirit of Comme des Garcons, selected mainly from the Kyoto Costume Institute (KCI) Collection and displayed in spaces designed by architect Kazuo Sejima.

The Tokyo Culture Creation Project is a project executed by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the Tokyo Metropolitan Foundation for History and Culture, in collaboration with various arts and cultural organizations and art NPOs. The Project aims to create Toyko's unique art and culture, and nurture children through the arts.
