Published in conjunction with Ahn Chang-hong's solo exhibition 'Portraits of the Times' at Busan Museum of Art, Busan, Korea from 28 February to 5 May 2009. Features representative works from 2001 to 2008. The artist has worked with found photographs, including old family portraits and identification photos, collaging and retouching the images by hand. For example, each portrait in the series Forty Nine People's Meditation (2004) have been altered in such a way that the subjects' eyes appear closed. Death is a recurring theme throughout his work which often features vanitas symbols such as skulls and butterflies. His most recent paintings titled Bed Couch (2008) depict ordinary nude models seated or reclining on a couch.
