A catalogue published in conjunction with the exhibition, 'So Sorry' by Ai Weiwei, held at Haus der Kunst, Munich, October 2009 to January 2010. This exhibition brings together the artist's various activities in different media, including installation, photography, documentary film, furniture/wood art, ceramics and architecture. Referring to the numerous apologies expressed by governments, industries, and financial corporates worldwide, which are in an attempt to make up for tragedies and wrongdoings, 'So Sorry' expresses the artist's critical perspective on Chinese politics and global affairs. For example, the recycling and sometimes destruction of old furniture to transform them into something new is the artist's way to criticise the selling out of culture.
Includes the artist's texts, selected from the exhibition's blog written by him in English. With essays and a dialogue between Ai Weiwei and Mathieu Wellner, in addition to the artist's biography.
