This catalogue features works displayed in the exhibition Mono-ha and Post Mono-ha held in 1987. The exhibition is regarded as the first attempt to retrace the development of post war Japanese art.

Along with the chronology of Japanese art from 1965-1987, biographies, bibliographies and statements of the participating artists, are presented in this catalogue in Japanese language. Three essays reviewing the exhibition given by Yoshiaki Tono, Toshiaki Minemura and Akira Moriguchi are, however, provided in both Japanese and English.
