Organized by The Land Transport Authority (LTA), this exhibition is aimed at altering the sterile and mundane atmosphere of underground stations, giving commuters a different and pleasant experience in and around stations. Nineteen of the Nation's top artists were commissioned for the project, turning the stations on the North East Line into a 'showcase' of some of the best art in Singapore. Unlike the 'freestanding' artworks in existing MRT stations, each of the North East Line artworks are fully integrated, or merged seamlessly into the architectural spaces of the stations, offering commuters visual delights without interrupting the flow of daily traffic.
