Excerpt from Inward Gazes: Documentaries of Chinese Performance Art 2012, The Macao Museum of Art, Macau S.A.R., 2012, p. 36: '1. I went to the beach to take 20kg weight of seawater every day from September 15th to 28th (The date for Inchon Landing during Korean War) in Inchon, transported it back home, let the seawater in the kettle boil and evaporate, resulting in crystallised salt, and then I put the salt into a glass every day. 280kg weight of seawater had evaporated and 5.5kg weight of salt had crystallised over the 14 days, and I got 14 glasses of salt.
2. With the seemingly ascetic but absurd mechanical behavior in this particular time and place, a sense of irony arises which reflects the cruel and empty nature of war.'
The performance took place in Inchon, South Korea.
