This publication is produced on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Hong Kong Visual Arts Society. Founded by a group of artists, primarily graduates of the Art and Design Certificate Course at the Department of Extra Mural Studies, The University of Hong Kong, it has held annual exhibitions since 1973. A major part of the book is devoted to preserving the oral history of VAS, comprising interviews with 19 members, while another section features selected artworks. Other sections include 'Hong Kong Visual Arts Chronicles 1966-2013' which is a timeline of happenings, and artist biographies.
