This publication documents the activities of the pioneering performance art group Concept 21, from 1986 to 1988. Its founding members include Sheng Qi, Zheng Yuke, Zhao Jianhai, Kang Mu and Xi Jianjun, who were art academy students in Beijing. Reports from the art magazine Zhongguo Meishubao and a short essay by Huang Du are included, accompanied by archival photographs and a timeline of performances by the short-lived group.
