Chui Faising is an established contemporary Chinese-American sculptor whose works are abstract in style. The sculptural pieces presented in this solo exhibition catalogue were executed in bronze and marble, and the sketches in oil. Being a mathematician and a lover of classical music as well as an artist, the works of Chui convey a sense of rhythm and calculated simplicity. The accompanying essay written by Lee Hui-shu (Assistant Professor in Chinese Art History at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology from 1994-1996) provides a perceptive study of the artist and his art. Biographical information of Chui Faising is also included.
