This book is published to pay tribute to Huang Zhuan (1958-2016), an art critic, curator, and art historian, who has been a significant figure in the participation and contribution to the Contemporary Art movement in China since the 1980s.
A total of 78 interview documentations are divided into two volumes; the first part includes interview transcripts with art historians, critics, curators, designer, etc., while the second part includes interviews with artists. Through the sharing of their personal experience with Huang Zhuan, this book does not only serves as a collection of personal memories but also offering a multi-dimensional view to the development of Contemporary Art in China.
