Exhibition catalogue for the First International Painting Biennial of the Islamic World. From a total of 480 works submitted to the committee, 219 works - by 163 artists (56 Iranians and 107 from other Islamic countries) - were finally chosen as the best in contemporary Islamic art. The Biennial's broad spectrum of contemporary painting mediums, genres, styles and subject matter is presented in a Islamic and spiritual context.
