Hendro Wiyanto wrote, 'Only memory makes us see the offence in the horror of the political stage in Indonesian history during 1965-66, the horrors of the May 98 riots and the horror of the repression of human sovereignty by a savage and violent system. In this exhibition, the art works of Dadang Christanto awaken us to picture these events again, so that they obtain their context for this present time.'
