The exhibition entitled Dance in Japanese Modern Art reexamines the relationship between art and dance in Japan from the turn of the 20th century to the prewar period, with special attention to the careers of the dancers Baku Ishii and Michio Ito. It presents 253 items in all, including oil paintings, watercolours, drawings, graphics, photographs, and historical documents. The present catalouge includes artist biographies and a chronology of art events from 1902-1946
