'The way I am dreaming of the possibility of critiques as a kind of written creation equivalent to an artwork while depending on critiques as a kind of guidebook or a guarantee — the way I am applying a double standard — is clearly problematic. I may have granted too much authority to critiques, thinking that they represent the artworks themselves, while at the same time belittling them.
This was the starting point from which I began planning for a project that would turn everything upside down: critiques that precede artworks. I have invited art critics and organisers as writers for this project. And I have asked them to write critiques of a future, ideal work that does not yet exist. Unlike ordinary critiques, which are based on existing artworks, this project boldly tries to twist this condition.' - Sojung Jun
