Exhibition catalogue of solo show of sculptural works by founder of LASALLE-SIA College of the Arts, Brother Joseph McNally. Says Bridget Tracy Tan (Curator of the Singapore Art Museum, "Almost all of the recent works start out as rough logs, ancient bogwood pieces retrieved from swamps in Ireland and sent to Singapore for [McNally's] use. The language of Brother Joseph's creativity pays homage to the original shape and texture of the wood; he contemplates and envisions artforms he finds inherent before beginning to have and chisel away. The result is a careful concord of knots, undulating grains with the pulse of swells and reflexes emerging from the wood itself." Includes an introduction, as well as short commentaries on each piece, by McNally himself.
